Hip & knee replacement for Rockville patients

Rockville sits between Dr. Harb’s two offices, with the Germantown office a short drive up I-270 and the Washington, D.C. office a manageable drive south. Surgery at Capital Orthopedic Surgery Center keeps the whole care pathway close to home.

Getting to care

Where Rockville patients see Dr. Harb

Dr. Harb sees patients from Rockville at both offices — whichever fits your schedule and routine best.

  • The Germantown office — roughly 10–15 minutes north on I-270, with free on-site parking and easy in-and-out access
  • The Washington, D.C. office — roughly 30–40 minutes south via I-270 / Wisconsin Avenue or the Red Line, convenient for patients who work or have other commitments downtown

Both offices handle the full range of in-office care: new consultations, follow-ups, in-office X-rays, injections, and post-operative visits.

Where surgery happens

Surgery just up the road

For most primary hip and knee replacements, surgery is performed at the Capital Orthopedic Surgery Center (COSC) on Seneca Meadows Parkway in Germantown — about 15 minutes north of Rockville on I-270. COSC is an outpatient-focused surgical facility built around joint replacement, with the great majority of patients heading home the same day as surgery.

For revision surgery or medically complex cases, Dr. Harb operates at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. — a longer drive, but the right level of care for those situations. The decision is made together at consultation.

Why Rockville patients choose Dr. Harb

What sets the practice apart

  • Two convenient office options — Germantown for the short drive, D.C. for the patient who works downtown or prefers the city office.
  • Direct anterior hip replacement — a muscle-sparing approach that lets most patients walk the same day and recover comfortably at home.
  • Modern, rapid-recovery knee replacement — a soft-tissue–respecting approach with detailed preoperative templating and modern medial-pivot implant designs, supporting early walking and a smoother return to daily life.
  • High surgical volume — Dr. Harb performs more than 600 hip and knee replacements each year, with over 5,000 to date.
  • JointBooklet recovery platform — a surgeon-designed recovery program that supports patients through every milestone after surgery.
